Cuyahoga Valley National Park

For Levent's birthday weekend, Levent and I went to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which is a small park just south of Cleveland. In my mind, this was in honor of Levent's birthday, but honestly it was just what so happened to be available at the Airbnb we were looking at. After all, Levent hates his birthday. So we rarely do anything for it. But aha! This year we did.

We drove up on Friday, checked into the Airbnb in the late afternoon and walked down to a local restaurant for burgers.

Saturday was our main day in the park. In the morning, we walked down to the local coffee shop for breakfast before heading to our first trail head. In the end, we hiked almost 10 miles on Saturday, which was more than we were originally planning for. But it was worth it! We saw three different waterfalls: Brandywine, Blue Hen and Buttermilk. (Buttermilk was the best one because it wasn't a very popular trail and thus there weren't very many people around). The weather on Saturday was perfect. The high was around 65 and sunny without a cloud in the sky. Mid hike, we stopped and sat on a rock near the river and had a picnic lunch. And after were done hiking, we got ice cream.
For supper, we picked up Mexican food and ate it at our little Airbnb. All and all, a perfect day.
On Sunday, our Airbnb host let us have a late check out. So we had a slow morning, walking down to the coffee shop and then walking around the river for awhile. Before heading out of town, we stopped at the quarry park (which is where an old quarry used to be) and got a little more nature walking in.
I basically said this already, but it was really perfect weekend. We had such a great time. I love being on vacation with my boo, even if it's just for the weekend.
