Springtime 2026: May
The spring series continue. This time the highlight is on May. May might be one of my favorite months (that and October). The weather can be so lovely and this month definitely had its moments. I had a lot of back porch time, which was so good for my mental health. Like I said, so lovely and maybe the main thing I did all month.
2. Blake, Brendan, Levent and I went to Law Bird's cherry blossom pop up. We went last year and it was, once again, so cute. The drinks were tasty and I, of course, had a wagu hot dog. Yum.
But Here are some other highlights
1. My cousin Betha and I went to Granville: Betha turned 40 this year and is trying to go on 40 different trips (mini or otherwise) and she asked if I wanted to go to this small town called Granville. Why not! They were having their first farmers market of the season. So we checked that out. We got coffee/chai, explored some shops and had lunch at an Asian fusion brew house.
3. Blake and Brendan were heading down to Harrisonburg for the week and I tagged along with them. Unfortunately, my sister had class all day on Saturday, but since it was Mother's Day weekend anyway, I spent most of the day with my mama. Leah was doing story time at the local bookstore before her class. So we went to that before Mom and I went to Magpie for brunch. We got coffee/matcha before we went to get pedicures. Later that evening, Leah and I went out for glasses of wine. It was a lovely day. And I am glad I got to spend some quality time with my Mama.
4. Brendan and I went strawberry picking! I had thrown my back out a few days prior. So it definitely wasn't easy, but I was determined. I borrowed Wilbur's knee pads and crawled around on my knees from plant to plant. It worked out. I love strawberry season and made a few jars of jam (that I will use in my matcha throughout the coming year).
5. For Levent's birthday weekend this year, we went to Cuyahoga National Park up near Cleveland. It was such a magically weekend, but I will save the details for it's own blog post.I love May. It was a lovely month.
